  • Description

The innovative formula was designed utilising Ayurvedic wisdom and modern research to harness the medicinal properties of its botanical ingredients. truthpaste has strong anti-septic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that help fight the bacteria that cause decay, gingivitis and gum disease. Each handmade jar contains the finest grade of bentonite clay, combined with organic neem and aloe vera, myrrh and a unique blend of essential oils.

Unlike conventional or other natural toothpastes, truthpaste does not contain any foaming agents, emulsifiers, thickening agents or artificial colorants. Each ingredient is chosen for its health benefit.

    Ingredients:

Neem - one of the most important medicinal trees in India. It has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine. All parts of the tree can be used; the leaf, bark, or oil from the seed. Neem has strong antiseptic and anti-inflammatory qualities. We put it in truthpaste to help maintain healthy gums.

Aloe Vera - is well known for its soothing properties, and some studies have shown that Aloe Vera helps treat gingivitis by killing the bacteria which causes it. It is also said that Aloe Vera helps your body to absorb minerals.

Myrrh - is the resin from commiphora genus trees. It is used in conventional medicine as an antiseptic in mouthwashes, toothpastes and gargles. It is an antiseptic and helps support gum heath. It also has roots in traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine.

Xylitol - found in truthpaste is derived from non GM birch trees. It is a natural sweetener, but many studies have found its use in oral care. Not only does it alkalise your mouth, research shows it fights bacteria that causes tooth decay.

Lemon - many claim lemon oil to be teeth whitening as well as helping to strengthen gums.  Lemon oil is pH neutral, so don't worry about using it on your teeth! Lemon Oil can help stimulate cell growth in your gums and is said to help treat receding gums. Its also antibacterial and antiseptic, and helps keep breath fresh.

Eucalyptus Globulus - is found in many products, including mouth washes and toothpastes as a fragrance, but its also an antiseptic and helps heal inflammation. Research shows this oil helps prevent periodontopathic bacteria which cause tooth decay.

Cinnamon Essential Oil - helps target bacteria causing bad breath. It has anti-fungal and antibacterial qualities, and studies show it targets streptococcus mutans bacteria which causes tooth decay, and lactobacillus plantarum bacteria that cause gum disease. It also has pain killing qualities.

Clove bud - is used as an excellent natural toothache relief. It has been used for centuries in Chinese medicine. Its strong germicidal qualities help to fight oral infections and kill bacteria.

Wintergreen Oil - derived from Gaultheria Procumbens is also known as 'Natures Aspirin'. Used in Ayurvedic medicine for its therapeutic qualities and in spiritual ceremonies bringing harmony between earth and its inhabitants. Research claims Wintergreen helps support healthy bone density and prevent tooth decay.

Peppermint - has an array of health benefits as well as being so widely used as a toothpaste flavour. It also helps fight bacteria in your mouth and prevent cavity causing biofilms to form. Its powdered leaves were used to keep teeth white and fight bad breath.

Sodium Bicarbonate - people use sodium bicarbonate to brush their teeth all over the world. It is great for your teeth and helps alkalise your mouth, helping keep your saliva a good pH for your teeth to remineralise.

Bentonite clay - is known for its ability to absorb toxins including mercury used in dental fillings. Bentonite is a mineral rich clay, and can be used for many health benefits. It can be ingested, or used topically on skin too. Clay therapies have been used for thousands of years, bentonite having a key part in cleansing.

Calcium Carbonate - found in most toothpastes, calcium carbonate is a natural mineral. It is used as a base ingredient, gentle abrasive, and to help alkalise the toothpaste.
